Our first stay in a hotel for a while and we were in Reno so it was also a casino, the Sands Regency, which we booked through Groupon. We booked a ‘Deluxe Non Smoking Two Queen’ room and like some of Reno itself, the room and hotel was a little dated but it was all comfortable and the bedding and linen were all of a good standard.
The room was a good size with large windows and sitting area, TV, coffee maker, refrigerator, air conditioning unit and Wi-Fi was satisfactory. Free on-site parking. They had a great offer that if you forgo daily housekeeping (which we often do anyway) you would receive a complimentary meal at their buffet (another classic casino hotel feature), so we jumped on that and to be honest, it was a pretty good buffet. Not an overly huge selection but good for the price.
Often in the casino hotels, the cheaper nights are Sunday-Thursday and then Friday and Saturdays are quite a lot more, so naturally we stayed during the lower priced nights.
Distance to:
- Convenience Store – 200m
We walked around the main part of the city, nothing was too far away.
Price = $81.13 NZD per night (included taxes and resort fees)
