Cambodia, Phnom Penh – Entire Home

We didn’t have too many choices within our accommodation budget in Phnom Penh but we found this 2 bedroom apartment in a pretty good location via Airbnb.

We knew it was on the third floor but we didn’t know the internal staircase was narrow, quite dark in places with no natural light or many lights and not well maintained. We were a little nervous climbing the flights of stairs to what we might encounter even though we had seen the photos of the inside of the apartment in the listing.

The listing photos gave a better impression of the apartment than being there in the flesh, some of the walls need some attention with flaking paint and cracks appearing and it didn’t feel that clean, especially in the bathroom and toilet, but it was comfortable enough for our one week stay.Cambodia_Phnom Penh_Entire Home_1The two bedrooms, both with large beds, were spacious with air conditioning units (one of which didn’t work very well) however the furnishings were moderately comfortable with bed linen and towels of medium quality. The kitchen, sitting and dining area didn’t get much natural light and did get a bit stuffy at times with only a couple of fans in the area. The kitchen is well stocked with a good array of cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery and there is a toaster, 3 burner hob, microwave and good refrigerator. The host kindly provided us with large bottles of filtered water throughout our stay. The Wi-Fi was very good.Cambodia_Phnom Penh_Entire Home_2There is a nice sunny balcony, great for drying clothes but a bit of a clean up and de-clutter would make it a much more enjoyable space to sit and watch the world go by with the bustling street life below.Cambodia_Phnom Penh_Entire Home_3Distant to:
