China, Beijing – Entire Apartment

We booked this two bedroom, one bathroom apartment for two nights. The host was very helpful during our trip and gave us lots of help with transport options from our arrival train station to her apartment. We didn’t do very good research prior to booking and shortly before arriving found it is a good 40kms out of Beijing. We were really only visiting Beijing to visit part of the Great Wall so thankfully it wasn’t a major issue for us. The host helped us find a taxi driver to take us to the wall and back and he also took us into Beijing for a very reasonable price.

We didn’t end up staying in the apartment that we booked, we were actually in another of the hosts listings – However we weren’t informed of this before we checked in and only found out once we questioned the host about the different set up compared to the photos on the listing we booked. Apparently there was an issue with the air conditioning but the host should of informed us of this before we arrived.

The apartment we were in did have the same amenities however the kitchen and bathroom need a very good, deep clean. The kitchen has grease on the cupboards, above the hobs and the inside of them didn’t look nice either. The bathroom wasn’t very clean, especially behind the door and the shower hoses leaked, so water went everywhere in the bathroom.

Bedrooms had very hard double beds but nice linen, only the main bedroom had an air conditioning unit.Entire Apartment_Beijing_China_2The large open plan area had an air conditioning unit, large, comfortable couch, four person table and chair setting and TV (which we didn’t use). The Wi-Fi was good. There was a washing machine and space for hanging clothes to dry, although more clothes hangers would be helpful.Entire Apartment_Beijing_China_1Lots of eateries and shops within this huge apartment complex.Entire Apartment_Beijing_ChinaDistance to:

  • Tiananmen Square – 39kms
  • Mutianya Section of the Great Wall – 73kms

The closest Subway Station was about 10kms away but there seemed to be plenty of local bus options. We pre-arranged taxi pick ups (at fixed prices) so we didn’t have to worry about trying to flag one down and pay the meter rate.

Price = $37.38 NZD per night (included Airbnb service fees) (Both listings/apartments were listed at the same price)
