We were surprised how expensive accommodation was in Ireland and even more so in Dublin. We had a rental car as well so needed somewhere with parking and that really reduced our options. Via Hotels.com we managed to find a reasonable family room at Glashaus Hotel, on the fringe of the city. We always check direct prices on their website, especially hotels, but on this occasion booking direct was more expensive.
We had a good sized room with one double bed and two singles. There was also a small round table and chairs and a couch. And a nice large bathroom so we were comfortable for our four night stay. It’s hard to get a good family room, but this hotel did it well. The hotel has a nice restaurant and bar as well and they have free self parking at the nearby ‘Euro Car Parks – Tallaght Cross East’, a one minute walk away.
- Tallaght (The Square) Luas Tram Stop – 20 m
- Laundromat (Laverie Tallaght) – 200 m
- The Square Shopping Mall with supermarket – 400 m
- Dublin Airport – 25 kms
We used public transport as The Luas tram stop was right next to the hotel and the red line took us directly into the centre of the city.
