Vietnam, Cát Bà Island – Hải Sơn Hotel

We decided to book a ‘family room with sea view’ via booking.com for six nights when staying on Cát Bà Island. We were welcomed warmly and assigned room 401.hai-son-hotel_cat-ba-hotel_vietnam.jpgA nice big room with two large comfortable beds, bedside cabinet, small wardrobe, two chairs, mini refrigerator, wall mounted TV and fan and air conditioning unit. We had a nice, small balcony with a view out towards the sea.Hai Son Hotel_Cat Ba Hotel_Vietnam_1Hai Son Hotel_Cat Ba Island_Vietnam_2Furnishings and linen was all very nice. Bathroom was clean and well maintained with good water pressure and temperature. Wi-Fi was patchy even though our floor’s modem was not far from our room. A curtain on the balcony door would be good as the top half of the door is stained glass and a lot of light came through.

Breakfast was included in our booking and the choices were eggs & toast, noodle soup or fried rice. Pretty simple with a tea or coffee.

Very close to the markets and many eateries, tour agents etc. Staff were friendly and helpful, laundry service for 40,000 VDN per kilo and scooter hire for 80,000 VDN per day.

Distant to:

  • Markets – 200m
  • Cannon Fort – 2.5km
  • Hospital Cave – 7.8km

There are many taxis in the area and plenty of tourists buses.

Price – $27.22 NZD per night (included breakfast)
